RLF officially formed in 1990. We were a group of spiritually hungry people whose lives had been dramatically changed by an encounter with Holy Spirit. We live mostly in the area stretching between Remsen, Rome, and Utica. Our desire is to represent the truth in that region that Holy Spirit is still active today in the distribution of supernatural gifts. 

We met in rented spaces and began a campaign to own property and build around 1998. We completed the building in 2003. Our founding pastor, Ron Smallman, served on a full time basis until 2008. He passed leadership to Pastor Woodly who has served part time since then. Our numbers have stayed consistently around one hundred people. By the grace of God we have been able to maintain our tradition of meeting on Sunday morning and the upkeep of our property. 

Many of our older persons have experienced healing from lives of brokenness. We have an increasing number of persons and leaders who have grown up in our assembly. We have had many persons join us for a time and then move on. 

Our tenets of faith reflect the belief that Jesus is the Son of God. He has given us Holy Spirit to reveal Himself as the exact representation of Father God. His Presence is in and among us as we live and journey together according to His direction. Our united journey together is not dependent upon complete agreement in areas of doctrine, politics, or personal conduct. Our unity is dependent upon the degree to which we are under the influence of Holy Spirit and the glory of the LORD is made manifest among us. The visible effect of Holy Spirit influence is growth in personal holiness and freedom from sin. This kind of unity and glory will protect us from falling into deception.

America is changing rapidly. We will need the help of Holy Spirit in order to fulfill our role as a member of the Church of Jesus. We will need to be intentional and strategic. This will mean getting healed of inner wounds and emotional damage. The warning signs are in our American culture of widespread rejection and opposition to the claims of Christ. We will need each other. Pursuit of the promised outpouring of Holy Spirit is essential to our future success in advancing the kingdom of God in our region.
