Key #2: The Power of the Holy Spirit
The Spirit of God enables us to do more than we could ask or imagine. It is the key to the supernatural life that God has prepared, that our hearts hunger for, and that our souls thirst for. If we diminish the power of the Holy Spirit then we relinquish ourselves to a life unfulfilled. We long for more, believe for more, and hope for more of the power to see the impossible made possible a key is found in learning to be led and directed in the adventures of life by His presence, His Holy Spirit.
It is time to pray and move by faith for a greater move of the Holy Spirit. It is time for our prayer to lead to action and expectation of the power of God to fall. Jesus meant what he said in John 16 that it was better for us that He leave for He would send the Holy Spirit. In 1 Corinthians 6 we read that our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. You are a container of the presence of God. It is time for us to wake up to the reality of the power of the Holy Spirit.
As we look at developing our personal and corporate prayer strategy at Redeeming Love this December Key #2 is praying for “A Greater Enablement by the Power of the Holy Spirit.” The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is in us and He wants out! God wants to use us to represent His heart to the world. In John 16 we read of the benefit of God’s Holy Spirit
5 “Now I am going to him who sent me, yet none of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’ 6 Because I have said these things, you are filled with grief. 7 But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. 8 When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me; 10 in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; 11 and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.
12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you.
The following is an acronym to help you cultivate your awareness and relationship with the Holy Spirit (TRUST). As you go through your day find moments to dialogue with the Holy Spirit. Begin by saying “Holy Spirit, thank you.”
T – Thank You
R – Reign in me (Romans 8:14)
U – Use me (Release the gifts – 1 Corinthians 12:8-10)
S – Strengthen Me (Ephesians 3:16-17, Colossians 1:10-11)
T – Teach Me (1 John 2:20)
We had a powerful time at the conclusion of our service singing through these. Let this resonate in your heart and enjoy the adventure!
